Just Another Shadow
02:00
|
|||
With a five cent gallon
And a two cent guitar
I'm drowning out the alley
And singing from afar
I would never join your war
You talk of all the times
And brag about your fate
But just beneath your smile
You got nothing on your plate
You'll go hungry without a hotdog store
Blown by the wind
Creeping behind your back
I see a mirror in your headlights
No shadow would follow that
Without trouble you can find me at my door
If your road is rolling backwards
You may begin to shout
I've lost chances in love
I hope my luck is un-running out
Who knows? Maybe I'll find you for once more

There's nothing like
Cold hearts in winter
Don't be afraid
Of the chill in the sky
I've never met
The breath of a princess
Or held the arm of
Radiant disguise
It's not what you want
Or what you can hide
It's just all the thoughts
And the love in your eyes
If I had my window
I'd look out at yours
Your silver knives
Cut out man's eyelids
They know what comes
They never turn away
The future's wrong
It knows not heartache
And yet you linger
For tomorrow today
It's not what you want
Or what you can hide
It's just all the thoughts
And the love in your eyes
If I had my window
I'd look out to yours
The door you opened
You soon regretted
Those poor yellow eyes
Never looked quite the same
Jewels and fingers
Behind the curtain
Certain as death
So surely behind
It's not what you want
Or what you can hide
It's just all the thoughts
And the love in your eyes
If I had my window
I'd look out for yours
An empty ballroom
Without a witness
He looks to dance
If only with someone
The bells of fortune
And jealous nuns
I leave the rest
So it'll all remain
It's not what you want
Or what you can hide
It's just all the thoughts
And the love in your eyes
If I had my window
I'd look out of yours
Bowls of embers
Held up by pillows
T.V. physicians
Point their noses at guns
I look to leave you
Rest while I'm roaming
Listen when lost
To the old man's song
It's not what you want
Or what you can hide
It's just all the thoughts
And the love in your eyes
If I had my window
I'd look out from yours

Heavenly Poison
04:02
|
|||
I'd like to show you
The words I cannot tell
For crystal mountains flow
Like the shadows in the air
My confusion is told
I wish you'd understand
That I have creatures in my mind
I have my friends at last
I planted a seed
In the soil of your head
We both know that it grows
For your heart is feeding it
It takes a train to leave
And this I can agree
But what's it take to come
When you grab ahold of me
The fountain of truth
And wisdom of despair
Listen to the old
Who have nothing to share
Your pa he is a rat
And your mamma a flower
Watch out for the teeth
That the gentlemen will swallow
Mesmerating fate
And trembling fables
I wish only you could taste
This heavenly poison
Only you can taste
This heavenly poison
Poison
Poison
Poison
Poison

I think back to the days of ours
I think back to yours
If I'd known before you'd gone
I would never let you show
Melted hearts and windswept nights
The clouds in your eyes
I'd like to save this day in time
So I could hold it as if it's mine
My dream lover, I say goodbye
And lay you down to rest
My own true love woke me tonight
And stayed through the morning light
If I could thank you once or twice
For what you'd done for me
My lonely dreams and memories
Oh, smile on for your company
So farewell to the dreaming child
Farewell to my darkened ghost
It's been a while but I'm due to leave
In hopes of the one to hold
So farewell to the dreaming child
Farewell to my darkened ghost
It's been a while so I'm due to leave
To find the season I must go

I'll Never Cry
02:40
|
|||
I went down to the countryside
You stayed in the city light
I was sleeping through the night
You awoke in the evening time
I, I'll never cry
Where my friend did you go
Who'd you leave your broken rose
On the night you never showed
Why'd you leave me in the snow
Oh, I'll never know
We have lost the day
When streets and fields learn to sway
To follow time to make a change
Where on earth did you stray
Hey, you never stayed
I went down to the countryside
You stayed in the city light
I was sleeping through the night
You awoke in the evening time
I, I'll maybe cry

If I Had Again
05:10
|
|||
If I was born in the morning
And you could hold the day up high
I would never let you go again
I would never let you go
If I could taste what I'm longing
And you were there by my side
I would never see you go again
I would never see you go
If we were standing in the dawning
And you did ask me just the same
I would forever get you home again
If I had ever given you home
If we had lasted until the evening
And you had changed the day you'd gone
I would forever ask you home again
If knew how to ask you home
If I had again
If I had again

Leaving Home
05:45
|
|||
It's cool and it's sunny and there's wind in my face
It's not easy leaving but it's harder to stay
I know this place well but I'm leaving today
Just like the dust there's a breeze I must chase
Not first not last neither worst nor best
But if I stand out it's from what you left
Within your waters the sand I will sift
And ease in the words as I lay them to rest
The winter it came but soon it will end
I'll still be gone from my very best friends
I'll follow advice from the words you sent
Move on but remember the feelings of then
I want to go where the cold winds blow
Dew turns to frost then sleet and snow
I want to know what I've never been shown
Tomorrow morning I'll be setting to go

In the past years of plenty
I'd held a dollar more
And in those other days
I was someone before
I don't really mind
Standing where I are
For the leaves keep a blowing
And the wind knows where I'm going
Tomorrow is arriving
The dawn's forevermore
With lightning in the distance
The echoes start to roll
Fire lead the evening
A sort of accident
And if you weren't leaving
I'd tell you how I felt
Nobody knows
The blooming of a man
For the bricks in the garden
Won't even take a stand
I'm with you if you know it
In the dancing of the grass
Captured like an image
Your memory to last
I have no need to fear
For the wind left me here
I couldn't even worry
A moment or more
For the wind is knowing
Everywhere I go

Do listen to the words I tell
It's the least you can for me
I've lent my ear to a thousand men
And women as they please
But now I wish it for my own
To have a voice be heard
My heart it will now be hurled
As my thoughts begin to leave
If the lord above or fire below
Came knocking to your porch
Pounding on the old front door
And asking for little much
A breath of air stale and cold
You're now his only friend
Look out for his stealing eyes
Or you'll end up just like him
The drinks upon the table flew
And crashed down in his seat
A sad young man smiling
He could fool you with his grin
Twelve long years and a dozen more
Held underneath his belt
But that's about all he had
At the bottom of his cup
Now picture this if you can
Try your very best
Imagine your favorite silver screen
And think of it with this
A tale of many a tale of few
Lost of harmony
But can you find another smile
As your eyes begin to weep
In the woods and in the desert
Life begins to howl
But even in the growling
Peace and love are found
Many moons together
And hopes of many more
Through winter and the summer
Their home was where they were
The coyote he calls for her
His darling little one
But she got held up by a man
Who carried a dark shotgun
He stood between the lover's eyes
I couldn't imagine worse
But when he pulled the trigger
No paws or feet there stood
These words I told are not my fault
I'm not the one to blame
If you did listen to them straight
You won't hold them to my name
If sorrow catches your goodbye
And hesitation grows
Maybe you shouldn't leave
But maybe you should go

Ellipses...
03:30
|
|||
Running through the airport
With laughter in our ears
The ticket check from Black River
And the way I'd love to see her
And the way I'd love to see her
A chance to play for many
While only just a few
Under pink light of darkness
And melancholy blue
And melancholy blue
You upon the gift room
Like food between two teeth
Dragging feet with smiles
As we found ourselves to be
As we found ourselves to be
A race into the highlands
To watch a crowd in heat
I will think of more tomorrows
While they flood my morning dreams
While they flood my morning dreams
And with them
Ellipses
And with them
Ellipses
